Birthday Card for Loved Ones

by Farhat Shams

I made this birthday card for a friend of mine on her birthday...

Cardmaking Supplies Used

The materials I used in this Happy Birthday card are flowers made of handmade paper, laces, white pearls, sketch pens and papers extracted from wedding invitation cards (especially used for the distinct textures they have.)

Although I made this greeting card for birthday purpose but it can be given to our loved ones on any special occasion... and surely bringing smiles on their faces :)

How I Made This Birthday Card

First of all, I took the inside of a wedding invitation card for using it as the base of the card..

Secondly i extracted textured papers from some wedding invitation cards (don't know if i'm sounding intelligible?) and stuck them to the base card as shown in the picture.

I used a pink coloured lace and a strand of white pearls and stuck them too.

Then I made flowers out of handmade paper...i used maroon coloured handmade paper for making paper roses...and yellow coloured handmade paper for the other flower which I later decorated with sketch pens and beads..

After the flowers are ready, I stuck them to their respective places (as shown in the picture above) using a double sided tape...so as to give them a bulged look...

A pretty card is ready... :)

Lovely Birthday Card, Farhat!
by: Flora

What a lovely birthday card indeed, Farhat. I'm sure your friend appreciated the effort you took to make this birthday greeting and treasure the card because firstly, it's pretty and secondly, it had been made specially for her.

It is indeed a good idea to recycle wedding invitation cards for the base. They are usually made of the best quality heavy weight card stocks with lovely textures. It's really a waste to discard them, right? I'm so glad that you made use of them for this birthday greeting card and I hope for your other projects too :-)

Thank you so much for sharing with us your creation, Farhat. Looking forward to seeing more of your works on this card making website.

Have a nice day!
